KABUL (Pajhwok): As part of a crackdown on militants, an operation has been launched in three areas of Kabul, the spy service said on Wednesday.
Special Forces were conducting a clearing operation against militants based on actionable information, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said.
In a statement, the intelligence agency said one of the areas had been cleared and raids were underway in other two spots. The statement however, did not name the areas.
It added an Islamic State (Daesh) insurgent was killed and three NDS personnel were wounded in Bagrami district.
Syed Karim Sangdil, police chief for Bagrami, told Pajhwok the Daesh rebels hiding in a residential building launched an attack at midnight. The assault ended at 7:30am.
