KABUL commander have been killed as a result of a magnetic bomb blast and a gun attack in Kabul, an official said on Thursday.
Firdous Faramarz, spokesman for Kabul police, told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion occurred in Kampani area on Wednesday evening.
He said the bomb attached to the car of former dean Dr. Mohammad Qasim Taj went off. Taj and his driver were killed.
Taj was currently serving as an official of the Salaam Telecom and he was ex-dean of the Mashal University.
Sair Zaland, spokesman for the Ministry of Information and Technology, said Taj was killed after the magnetic bomb hit his vehicle last night.
He condemned the incident and said Taj had no personal enmity. He was killed by the enemies of the country, the official added.
Separately, a former jihadi commander and Afghan Local Police (ALP) officer for the Jalrez district of MaidanWardak province was also killed in the same area.
But the police spokesman said noting in this regard. The Taliban claimed responsibilities for both attacks.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the group’s spokesman, said intelligence agents were targeted by the blast in Kampani area and four people suffered casualties.
He also said that former commander Haroon Pacha was killed in an attack in Dewan Begi area.
