KABUL (Pajhwok): Security is a prerequisite for the success of the system, an official said, calling for dealing with threats and problems,
National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib said the insurgents had failed to achieve their objective of capturing cities and big towns.
Addressing a meeting of security sector bosses, the NSA blamed the enemies --frustrated by their failure -- for attacking crowded public places
In a statement from the National Security Council, Mohib said the militants were trying to strike fear into the hearts of the people.
He directed the relevant organs to assess security threats and find ways of warding them off. He hoped the security forces would continue to demonstrate courage and sacrifices.
Heads of security organisations briefed the meeting participants on the measures taken to provide security for the upcoming elections and candidates on the campaign trail.
