KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 13 people were killed and around 400 others injured in car accidents indifferent provinces of the country during Eid ul Adha holidays.
Officials say four people were killed in car accidents in Eid holidays in capital Kabul.
On the other hand, officials in eastern Nangarhar province say 104 people were injured and two others killed in traffic accidents, criminal incidents, firing into air and blaze in the province over the three holidays of Eid.
Nangarhar governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Eid ul Adha was celebrated without any security incidents but dozens of people were injured in traffic accidents, criminal incidents and fire.
He said a dead body and 39 injured people from traffic accidents in the province were taken to Nangarhar Zonal Hospital.
He said 46 others who were injured after falling from a building, 16 people including children injured in blaze and three injured in celebratory firing.
Khogyani said that there were no patients from Congo disease to be brought to the hospital. The number of people injured in different incidents during Eid is 10 percent less compared to the previous Eid, he added.
Nangarhar traffic department chief, Col. Atiqullah Aimaq said two people were killed and seven others injured in three traffic accidents during Eid holidays.
Nangarhar public health department spokesman, Zahir Adil said that some of the people injured during Eid holidays sustained slight injuries and were discharged on the same day while some with serious injuries were still under treatment.
Herat public health officials say 120 people were injured in different incidents happened during Eid holidays.
Officials in Ghazni province say 26 people suffered casualties in different incidents during Eid holidays in the province.
A statement from Ghazni governor’s house said three people were killed and 23 others injured in 11 traffic accidents during Eid holidays.
Traffic officials in Khost province say two people were killed and 21 others injured in traffic accidents in the province in Eid holidays.
Two people were killed and 123 others injured in traffic accidents in Eid in Kandahar province.
Local officials say the incidents happened in the provincial capital and districts of the province and most of them were motorcycle crashes.
Helmand officials say only two people were injured during the holidays in the province.
Traffic accidents are also reported from some other provinces of the country.
