Afghan ambassador mugged in Barcelona

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan ambassador to Spain suffered a leg injury at the weekend in Barcelona, media reports say.

Masood Khalili came under attack late Sunday on a street in the town, according to Associated Press, which reported the diplomat was thrown to the ground and his watch snatched

The diplomat, who was in Barcelona for celebrations marking Afghanistan's Independence Day, suffered a leg injury. A source at the Afghan embassy in Madrid was quoted as saying.

The muggers managed to steal Khalili’s wrist watch valued at 17,000 euros. Barcelona has seen a wave of crimes, including attacks on several foreigners.
