TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in central Uruzgan province have been afraid and worried of returning to their homes as the Taliban planted landmines in the area.
Police chief Col. Mohammad Khetab Khanjari said at least 70 landmines were recovered and defused in Kabutarkhan area of Tirinkot City, the provincial capital so far.
He said the militants had planted the mines on roads, bridges, culverts, foot parks, house and mosques during their three-year-control in order to prevent the entry of security forces.
