<p><a href="/en/afganistan/kabul" class="glossify-link">KABUL</a> (Pajhwok): As many as 40,000 Afghan students are currency enrolled in Iranian universities, a top diplomat said on Tuesday</p>
<p>Mehr News Agency quoted Ambassador Abdul Ghafoor Li wal as saying most of the Afghans were pursuing technical and engineering programmes.</p>
<p>“Also, some 30 Afghan professors are MA, MS and PhD candidates in Iran,” the ambassador said.</p>
<p>Earlier in the month, the Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) and <a href="/en/afghanistan" class="glossify-link">Afghanistan</a>’s Khatam Al-Nabieen University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for broadening academic cooperation.</p>
