HIA delegation meets Taliban reps in Qatar: Source

KABUL representatives in Qatar, a reliable source said on Wednesday.

The source based in Doha, the Qatari capital, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the HIA delegation, led by Dr. Ghairat Baheer, arrived in Qatar two days back and met with Taliban’s political office members.

Abdul Satar Khwasi, Dr. Fazal Hadi Wazeen and Haji Daud were also part of the HIA delegation, which held detailed discussion with the Taliban representatives, the source said, but did not go into specifics.

The Taliban Qatar office head Mullah Baradar was not present at the meeting with HIA delegates, the source said.

Afghan journalist Sami Yousufzai based in Qatar also tweeted about the HIA’s delegation meeting with Taliban representatives in Qatar.

However, the HIA media office in Kabul rejected their delegation had met with Taliban representatives in Qatar.

The Taliban have also not yet commented in this regard.
