KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): The Taliban have captured the Dasht-i-Archi district of northern Kunduz province, an official said on Sunday.
Clashes between the security forces and the insurgents have been underway in the restive district over the past several days.
Nasruddin Saeedi, the district’s administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban staged attacks from several directions on the district but reinforcements had not arrived so far.
He said the militants overran the district on Saturday evening following negligence from security officials.
