MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok) The labour and social affairs director for northern Balkh province was wounded in a Taliban attack on Saturday.
Police spokesman Adel Shah Adel told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place on the highway between Balkh district and Mazar-i-Sharif.
He said Director Matiullah Mateen came under ambush on his way to the city from the district centre. Mateen was injured in the 15-minute clash, he added.
