PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): At least three children have been killed and four other wounded in a clash between Taliban and the security forces in central Logar province, an official said on Wednesday.
Dedar Lawang, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants stormed security check-posts in the Dehno area of Mohammad Agha district on Tuesday night.
Lawang said it was unclear which side had inflicted casualties on civilians but an investigation was underway.
Sidiqullah, a resident of the area, said three children were killed and four people, including two women, wounded after a mortar shell hit their home.
He confirmed the mortar shell was fired during the firefight between the militants and the security personnel on Tuesday night.
The Taliban have said nothing about the incident so far.
