KABUL (Pajhwok): Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah has criticised the loss innocent people during security forces operations and demanded steps to prevent civilian casualties.

Addressing a gathering here marking the 8th death anniversary of Former President Burhanuddin Rabbani, he said civilian casualties during military operations has surged and there was need for steps to stop them.

At least 30 civilians were killed and 40 others injured in security forces airstrike in the Khogyani district of Nangarhar province on Thursday.

Similar incidents took place in the Maidan Wardak, Logar provinces which resulted in the loss of civilians.
