4th CNIC distribution center opens in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): A fourth computerized national identity card (CNIC) distribution center has been opened in Kart-i-Parwan area of Kabul City, a statement said on Sunday.

The statement from the Central Statistics Office received by Pajhwok Afghan News said the CNIC office was inaugurated in Kart-i-Parwan area of Kabul City today Sunday.

More than 286,000 individuals have so far received electronic ID cards throughout the country.

Ahmad Javed Rasooli, head of the Central Statistics Office, said at the inauguration that the new center was equipped with advanced and standard equipment.

He said, “Electronic governance is one of the government’s strategic goals and distributing CNIC among citizens is part of the goals.”

He termed distribution of CNIC as a national process and said it would remove all mistakes ad problems in paper identity cards.

He said four CNIC centers in Kabul and two more in eastern Nangarhar and western Herat provinces existed.

Kabul Governor Mohammad Yaqub Haidari expressed his happiness over the inauguration of the fourth CNIC center in Kabul and promised his support to the office.
