KABUL (Pajhwok): The voting process for a new president polls began on Saturday across the country.
At least 14 candidates are contesting the election, which is seen as a two-horse race — President Ashraf Ghani and CEO Abdullah.
Earlier, 18 individuals had registered as presidential candidates but four of them later opted out of the contest.
Election officials and security bosses have assured the nation that the polls will be held in a peaceful environment and a transparent manner.
According to some reports, the election did not begun at some polling centres as of 7:30am.
