TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Two policemen and 19 Taliban have been killed during clashes in central Uruzgan province, an official said on Friday.
Police Chief Khetab Khanjari told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban have launched attack on the Gezab district from the past several days.
Two policemen have been killed and four others injured during clashes, he said, adding that 19 Taliban were killed and four security check-post earlier captured by the Taliban have been taken back.
Khetab said no reinforcement reached to the province so far and warned of dangerous consequences if immediate attention is not paid.
Taliban Spokesman Qari Yusof Ahmadi claimed inflicting heavy casualties on security forces and capturing several check-points in Gezab district.
