SAR-I-PUL/QALA-I-NAW/NEILI (Pajhwok): At least three police personnel and two Taliban militants have been killed and as many militants and five police wounded in separate incidents of violence in some parts of the country, officials said Monday.
Abdul Nasir Nazari, the Badghis provincial council member, told Pajhwok Afghan News three police were killed in a Taliban ambush in Chelgazi area of Muqar district of the northern province early Monday morning.
Elsewhere, a Taliban group leader and his associate were killed and two others wounded in Sancharak district of northern Sar-i-Pul province as a result of a security forces’ operation today.
Meanwhile, a security official, who wished to go unnamed, told Pajhwok that five security forces were wounded when Taliban militants stormed their check-post in Surkh Nahor area of Nawmesh district of Daikundi province late Sunday night.
The Taliban have not yet commented about these incidents.
