JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Thirteen Taliban militants have been killed and eight others injured in airstrikes and artillery attacks in the Khogyani district of eastern Nangarhar province, a security official said on Monday.
Lt. Col. Mohammad Haroon Yusofzai, spokesman for the 201st Selab Military Corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News that foreign forces fighter jets targeted militant hideouts in Miagano Tangi locality early on Monday morning.
Six Taliban, including the group’s commander, were killed and a seventh injured in the airstrikes.
He added separately artillery shelling by the Selab Militray Corps killed seven militants and injured as many in Merza Ali locality. Local residents were unheart in the attacks.
The Taliban have not yet commented about the incidents.
