<p>GARDEZ (Pajhwok): A former Teacher Training Center (TTC) head for southeastern Paktia province has been sentenced to five years in prison over misuse of authority.</p>
<p>Some three years back, Atta Mohammad Qani, the former Paktia TTC chief, had been accused of five million afghanis corruption in buying office materials.</p>
<p>Qani was referred to the Attorney’s Office soon after assuming office by Governor Shamim Khan Katawazi, but later he served as head of the Kochi department in Khost and currently he was working as spokesman for the <strong>Independent</strong> General <strong>Directorate</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kochi</strong> in <a href="/en/afganistan/kabul" class="glossify-link">Kabul</a>.</p>
<p>Prosecutor of the case accused Atta Mohammad Qani of misusing his authority and tampering with office documents.</p>
<p>He said Qani misappropriated five million afghanis from fund meant for purchasing different types of office equipment.</p>
<p>However, Qani rejected all allegations against him and said he bought all office materials in the presence of an appointed delegation with him at the time.</p>
