<p><a href="/en/afganistan/kabul" class="glossify-link">KABUL</a> militants have shot dead the chief of the Jaghato of central Maidan Wardak province, an official said on Sunday.</p>
<p>Raz Mohammad Waziri was gunned down by unidentified attackers in the 3rd police district of Kabul late on Saturday.</p>
<p>Kabul police spokesman Firdos Faramarz told Pajhwok Afghan News the assailants managed to escape but police had launched an investigation into the incident.</p>
<p>The Taliban, meanwhile, claimed responsibility for the killing of the Jaghato district chief.</p>
