JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Nangarhar Governor Shah Mahmood Miakhel and Deputy Foreign Minister Naheed Esar discussed issues concerning Pakistan visa process on Monday here, an official said.
Miakhel’s spokesman Attaullah Khogyani told Pajhwok Afghan News the two discussed creating more facilities in obtaining Pakistani visas by Afghans and making efforts for extension in the visa period, online visa system, handing over the visa issuance process to the private sector and some other related issues.
The governor hoped the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would provide facilities to Afghans to easily go through the visa process in Nangarhar where people from eight provinces apply for visa to the neighboring country in Jalalabad.
Problems in applying for Pakistani visa have recently surged, with people complaining about their inability to easily get the visa. The applicants claim visas are sold in black market against a huge price.
The Pakistan’s Embassy in Kabul has already said they issue 4,000 visas daily to Afghans in line with its capacity,.
