Govt retakes Dahna-i-Ghori district after 3 years

KABUL province after three years, the Ministry of Defence said on Thursday.

In a statement, MoD said the Taliban suffered heavy casualties during an operation in Ghor, where the security personnel recaptured the district.

The statement claimed the militants had lost the ability of face-to-face fighting with the security forces. In frustration, the MoD alleged, the rebels were targeting innocent people.

The security operation, launched a week back, would continue until the province was cleared of insurgents, the ministry added.
