JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Joint security forces launched operation after Achin in Sherzad district of eastern Nangarhar province on Sunday.
The offensive led by Afghan National Army (ANA) and accompanied by border police personnel, national, local and public order policemen.
Mohammad Haroon Yousafzai, spokesman for the 201 Selab Military Corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News that joint security forces conducted operation in Sherzad district to suppress the insurgents.
The aim of the operation was to clear the highways between Khogyani and Sherzad district, suppress of militants in the district, maintain security, paving the way for good . . .
