US soldier wounded in Kandahar roadside bombing

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): One American soldier has been wounded as a result of roadside bomb blast in southern Kandahar province.

In a statement, the governor’s house said that the blast took place in Dand district. It said the roadside bomb targeted an American military tank while patrolling in the area.

A soldier who sustained injuries in the incident is currently in stable health condition.

ZabihullahMujahid, Taliban’s spokesman, confirmed the blast on American soldiers and claimed killing all those onboard.

But US forces media office in Kabul confirmed the roadside bomb targeted US convoy. One soldier suffered a minor injury and rejected Zabihullah’s claims.
