HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): One person was killed and eight others wounded in a suicide blast in western Herat province on Monday evening, an official said.
Police Chief Maj. Gen. Aminullah Amarkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast happened near a worship place in Herat City, the provincial capital, at around 6:00pm today (Monday).
He said the bomber planned to detonate himself in worshipers but was unable to do so.
Amarkhel added one person was killed and another eight people, including children, were wounded in the bombing.
