TALOQAN (Pajhwok): At least nine security personnel have been killed and three others wounded in a Taliban attack in the Khwaja Bahauddin district of northern Takhar province, an official said on Friday.
Police spokesman Khalil Aseer told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants stormed a security check-post in the district on Thursday night.
He said nine policemen, including one Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier, were killed and three other policemen wounded.
According to Aseer, the overnight attack lasted for several hours and the Taliban attack was repulsed after the arrival of reinforcement. Without giving the exact figure he said, the insurgents were also suffered casualties.
But Taliban claimed killing 12 security forces and wounding five others.
