Policeman killed in Kandahar attack

KANDAHAR CITY:  One policeman was killed and four others injured in a group attack followed by a suicide bombing and security force base in the Shahwalli Kot district of southern Kandahar province on Saturday, an official said.

Governor Spokesperson Baheer Ahmad told Pajhwok Afghan News militants stormed security forces base in the Chinar locality early on Saturday morning. According to Baheer assailant first detonated and explosive-laden Humvee vehicle and then launched attack on the facility.

He added assailants hide themselves in civilian homes after reinforcement from air and the ground reached.

Khandahar police confirmed, one policeman was killed and four others injured in the attack.
