KABUL (Pajhwok): The killer of three judges of the Paktika appellant court has been killed in an airstrike in central Logar province, the Ministry of Defence said on Sunday.
The judges were killed in a Taliban ambush in the Mohammad Agha district of Logar on Thursday.
Provincial Council Chairman Hasibullah Stanikzai had earlier told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Baqiabad area on the Kabul-Logar highway.
The judges, hailing from southeastern Paktika province, came under Taliban ambush on their way from Paktika to Kabul.
In a statement today, the ministry said the killer named Waisuddin -- a dreaded Taliban commander -- was killed during a raid in Mohammad Agha on Saturday evening.
The statement blamed the militant commander for the killing of the judges. It added he was killed along with five other fighters.
