2 women among 8 killed in Sar-i-Pul accident

SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): At least eight people have been killed and seven others wounded as a result of a traffic accident in northern Sar-i-Pul province, an official said on Tuesday.

Mohammad Hussain Mujahidzada, a member of the provincial council, told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident took place when a passenger vehicle overturned in the Kotal-i-Shigi area of Balkhab district on Monday afternoon.

He said eight people, including two women and six men, were killed. Seven others --three women, a child and three men -- were wounded.

According to Mujahidzada, the victims were residents of different villages of the district. He linked the accident to bad road condition and reckless driving.
