28 Afghans dead, 21 wounded in Iran road crash

KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 28 Afghan refugees have been killed and 21 others wounded as a result of a road crash in Iran, say media reports.

The accident took place in the Khash Nomi area of Sistan province, where two passenger vehicles collided.

At least 28 Afghans were killed and 21 wounded. The government in Kabul has so far said nothing in this regard.

Sistan Balochistan province borders the Nimroz province of Afghanistan.

Afghan Ambassador in Tehran Abdul Ghafoor Lewal verified the accident to Pajhwok Afghan News and expressed deep concern on the accident that resulted in killing and injuring of Afghan refugees.

He said: “We have ordered our colleagues in the consulate close to the accident area to monitor the accident seriously and approach the injured and facilitate the affairs of dead transfer in cooperation with local authorities.”
