Jamshed Rassouli, spokesman for Attorney General Office (AGO), told Pajhwok Afghan News the attackers were yet to be identified.
Mohammad Azim Dil Agha, the district administrative chief, said the incident took place in Sabz Sang area at 8am, when the prosecutors were travelling to Bagram from Kabul.
He blamed the Taliban militants for the attack, saying one of the prosecutors was killed and three others wounded. The injured were evacuated to a Kabul hospital for treatment.
The attack comes days after President Ashraf Ghani said his decision to free three Haqqani Network prisoners in return for two foreign professors was part of efforts to engage in direct talks with the Taliban.
