HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Fifty-five people have been killed and another 6,700 injured on traffic accidents in western Herat province this year, officials said on Thursday.
Ghulam Sakhi Hussaini, Herat traffic director, told Pajhwok Afghan News 228 traffic accidents were registered in Herat City, the provincial capital, this year.
The incidents left 55 people dead and another 168 injured in the provincial capital.
He admitted traffic rules were often violated by most drivers, particularly youth, creating problems for people across the province.
