PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has increased vegetable and fruit imports from neighbouring Afghanistan.
Daily imports have been jacked up from 12 vehicles a day to 100 to ensure the availability of the items in the local market at affordable rates.
Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was informed about the import increase at a meeting on price control mechanisms, a government statement said.
Mahmood said the number of vehicles bringing fruits and vegetables to North Waziristan had been increased to rein in prices.
