HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) finance officer was shot dead in western Herat province on Saturday, an official said.
Jilani Farhad, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News IECC Finance Officer Litfullah Halimi was shot dead this morning.
Farhad said the motive behind the murder was yet to be ascertained. Security and detective personnel are in the area to investigate the murder.
Meanwhile, Dr. Arif Jalali, head of the zonal hospital confirmed receiving the body of the IECC official.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility . . .
