KABUL (Pajhwok): Presidential candidate Gulbuddin Hekmatyar on Monday said his party would not accept fraudulent election result and vowed to establish peace and a government to be acceptable to all sides.
Addressing reporters here, Hekmatyar who headed the Peace and Islamic Justice team said after lots of disputes and engineered fraud, the preliminary results were announced, which were not acceptable for any Afghan aware of realities.
“Fraud and rigging reached the extent where one team’s votes were increased ten times while another team’s votes were decreased ten times by adding or removing a zero digit.”
He said he will soon announce his final stance regarding the election result after consultations with people and in the supreme interest of the nation.
Hekmatyar asked the IEC to recount all ballot boxes not only the ones that the state sponsored teams were demanding.
He also demanded the IEC conduct re-election in all polling stations where biometric devices were stolen.
“If our demands are not met, we will not accept fraud result or a president enforced on people as a result of fraud polls,” he said.
The HIA leader added individuals wishing to reach their nefarious goals by supporting fraud had committed a mistake.
He said peace will be established and all would agree on formation of a government which will be acceptable to all and future polls would be conducted under such a government.
He reiterated that peace could be established under an interim government and the current government had lost credibility to bring peace.
