Taliban release 27 captive Peace Movement members

<p>FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): The <a href="/en/taliban" class="glossify-link">Taliban</a> have released 27 members of Peace Movement in the Balaboluk District of western Farah province, an official said on Thursday.</p>

<p>Governor Spokesperson Mohammad Shoiab Sabet told Pajhwok Afghan News the release of captive peace movement happened through the mediation of tribal elders.</p>

<p>Pajhwok strived to establish contact with released Peace Movement members, but due to lack of telecommunication service in the area the contact was not established.</p>

<p>Bismillah Watandost, spokesperson for the Peace Movement, said 27 members of Peace Movement were kidnapped by the Taliban 45 hours earlier and had been released on Thursday.</p>

<p>He said all their released colleagues were stable and were on their way to Farah City. The Taliban have not spoken about the incident.</p>
