1 killed, 3 wounded as blast rocks Mazar-i-Sharif

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): One individual was killed and three others were wounded as a result of an explosion in the capital of northern Balkh province on Saturday morning, an official said.

Police spokesman Adel Shah Adel told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in limits of the 10^th police district of Mazar-i-Sharif at 10:30am.

He said one person was killed while three others sustained injuries in the powerful explosion that resulted from a bomb placed in a vehicle.

Syed Ali, a resident of the area, claimed seeing several injured people at the site of the blast. He believed the target might have been a bathroom frequented by important people.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.
