TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Residents of central Uruzgan province have called on the warring parties to observe a ceasefire and renounce conflict.

They expressed the views at a huge gathering organised by the People’s Peace Movement (PPM) in Tirinkot. Hundreds of Uruzgan residents attended the meeting.

He said the parties should not halt drop peace efforts for the sake of achieving petty personal interests. The peace activist called for the renunciation of war in the country.

Tribal elders and religious scholars also called on the government and the Taliban to put an end to the killing of Afghans and expedite efforts for peace.
