AIBAK (Pajhwok): Once scheduled to be inaugurated in November 2018, construction of a healthcare center building in this capital city of northern Samangan province is only 40 percent completed, officials said Sunday.
The officials say the clinic is being established for diagnosing and treating tuberculosis, malaria and lashmania diseases.
Azizullah Hashimy, head of health services at Samangan public health department, said that the project was started in 2017 and had to be completed in 2018.
He added around 10 million afghanis had been allocated to the project in 2017. However, the project had so been completed only 40 percent due to negligence of the construction company, Afghan Perlid Company, he said.
Dr. Abdul Khalil Musadid, director of Samangan’s public health department, confirmed the delay and said the project was expected to be completed next solar year.
Pajhwok tried to contact the company officials for comment, but no one was prepared to talk.
