PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Ex-president Hamid Karzai has inquired after former Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif at the latter’s residence in London.
Upon his arrival at Avenfield House, Karzai was received by Nawaz Sharif's sons Hussain and Hassan, a Pakistani newspaper reported on Sunday.
According to Dawn, the ex-premier’s brother and Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Shehbaz Sharif and his sons were present at the meeting with Karzai.
After the meeting, Karzai told reporters he was delighted to visit his brothers – Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif.
"On my visits to Pakistan and on his visits to Afghanistan," the then president remarked.
For his part, Nawaz thanked Karzai for visiting him to inquire after him. Shehbaz too took to Twitter to thank Karzai.
"I have always maintained that our sorrows and happiness are shared and the future of Pakistan & Afghanistan is interwoven," he wrote.
Following permission from the government and courts to travel abroad on medical grounds, Nawaz arrived in London on November 19 along with his brother Shehbaz.
