Nearly 900kg of narcotics seized in Logar

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Local officials on Wednesday said police forces seized nearly 900 kilograms of narcotics in central Logar province.

Governor’s spokesman, Didar Lawang, told Pajhwok Afghan News that police and intelligence forces launched an operation in Dabar area of Charkh district on Tuesday night.

He said that 880 kilograms of hashish was seized from two smugglers during the operation.

The hashish was placed in minibus vehicle and the smugglers wanted to traffic it to other provinces of the country, he added.

A weapon from the smugglers was also seized by Afghan security forces during the operation, Lawang added.

Police forces in another operation recently seized hundreds of narcotics in Abchakan area of Pul-i-Alam, provincial capital.
