HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Twenty Taliban have been killed in the airstrikes and artillery shelling by security forces in western Herat province, an official said on Saturday.
Governor spokesperson Jilani Farhad said the 20 Taliban were killed in the Khoh Zor and Chesht districts of Herat.
The Taliban’s notorious Commander Mullah Fazal Ahmad also known as Gourg was killed in the airstrikes.
Five more notorious Taliban associated with Mullah Abdul Rahman Maldar were killed in the Chesht district.
The Taliban have not yet commented about the incidents.
