ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Three Afghan security personnel injured in Pakistani forces firing on Monday in eastern Kunar province, an official said.
Governor Abdul Ghani Musamim told Pajhwok Afghan News Pakistani forces attacked Afghan security forces check-post in the Nawa Pass locality of Sarkano district at around 2:30 pm.
He said three Afghan security personnel injured in the incident.
Musamim said Afghan forces effectively responded to Pakistani forces firing in the defence of their soil.
He said situation returned to normal after three hours of firefight. More security personnel had been dispatched to the area, he added.
He said Pakistani forces shelled artilleries in the Nawi locality but there was no report of casualties.
Pakistani forces often shells artilleries into Kunar province in which some people had been killed and injured so far and some families had been displaced.
