KABUL province, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said on Wednesday.
A statement from MoD said 40 Taliban militants laid down arms and shunned fighting in the Shahrak district of the province on Tuesday.
The surrender comes amid as a joint operation by ANA, police and intelligence personnel in the restive district, where 150 Taliban have surrendered in recent weeks.
The surrendering rebels also handed over their weapons to the authorities.
