5 militants detained in Maidan Wardak raids

KABUL figures during raids in central Maidan Wardak province, the spy service said on Sunday.

In a statement, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said raids on militant hideouts were conducted in Ahmadkhel and Mohammad Noorkhel villages of Jalrez district.

Five Taliban militants, including the militant movement’s intelligence head for Jalrez, were detained with a number of weapons and ammunition.

With the Taliban yet to comment on the raids, the NDS statement did not give the date and time of the arrests.
