Taliban commander for Siori district killed: MoD

<p>QALAT/KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): <a href="/en/taliban" class="glossify-link">Taliban</a>’s military commander for the Siori district of southern Zabul province was killed in an airstrike on Thursday morning, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) claimed.</p>

<p>In a statement, MoD said the airstrike targeted a vehicle the militants were travelling. <a href="/en/maulvi" class="glossify-link">Maulvi</a> Mhamood Mukhlis was killed along with five associates in the raid.</p>

<p>Governor Rahmatullah Yarmal said Taliban’s logistics manager Anwar Omari was also among the dead.</p>

<p>On the other hand, local residents claimed two civilians were among the fatalities resulting from the air raid.</p>

<p>Nasir Jamal, a resident of Zabul, wrote on his Facebook page that five civilians, including a child, were killed in the raid.</p>
