<p><a href="/en/afganistan/kabul" class="glossify-link">KABUL</a> (Pajhwok): A top US diplomat in Kabul underlined the need for transparency in the electoral process, including the final results.</p>
<p>“Voters must have confidence in the outcome, so whoever leads the next government can build consensus,”the US charge d’affaires tweeted,</p>
<p>An acceptable election result would help Afghans work together for peace and the national interest, Ross Wilson wrote.</p>
<p>He urged all parties to work within the electoral process, adhere to the Code of Conduct they signedand refrain from using any extralegal actions. </p>
<p>Just like the election bodies, candidates and campaigns also had a responsibility to Afghan voters, he said. “They must respect the process so the final result can be determined in an orderly manner.” </p>
<p>Wilson added; “As they complete the electoral process, we call on <a href="/en/iec" class="glossify-link">IEC</a> and IECC to work in a coordinated and transparent manner to give voters confidence in the outcome.”</p>
