KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Saturday said that the fate of 300,000 controversial votes would be decided in coming two days.
Mohammad RazaFaez, IECC deputy spokesperson, exclusively told Pajhwok Afghan News the commission was working hard on objections raised against complaints.
He said the Commission had completed addressing objections in 21 provinces and in coming two days, election related decisions would be announced, including the fate of controversial 300,000 votes.
Referring to different categories of votes such as voting beyond or before official time, non-biometric votes and suspected votes, he said decision regarding every category will be taken in coming days.
It is worth mentioning that the 300,000 votes include over 102,000 votes cast outside voting time, over 137,000 quarantined votes, around 70,000 votes with repeated photographs and 423,000 controversial polling stations.
The Stability and Partnership team have registered their complaints against these votes.
The IECC launched addressing objections against complaints from January 22.
The Presidential Elections were conducted in September 2019 and incumbent president Ashraf Ghani was declared winner according to the preliminary result. Abdullah grabbed 39 percent of votes.
