KABUL (Pajhowk): National Procurement Authority (NPA) has amended the procedure for road construction projects for creating facilities and giving more partnership share to the private sector in infrastructural road projects.
A statement from NPA receved by Pajhwok Afghan News said that the amendments in the procedure for road construction projects were aimed at facilitating bidders and companies as well as giving more opportunity for private sector’s partnership in bidding process for road construction projects.
The source said that based on the amendments, companies who previously completed 40 percent of a same project or 60 percent of two projects, can use their performance as work experiences in the bidding process of road construction projects.
The statement said that procurement organs were responsible to mention required work experience standards for road constructional projects based on the new amendments in the procedure.
The amendments are applied to all road construction projects, including new constructions, repairing, reconstruction, improvements and other related activities for all roads, the source said.
Previously companies had to complete 70 percent part of a similar project or a total of 100 percent of two similar projects before taking part in the bidding process.
