NEILI (Pajhwok): Accused of land grabbing, around 140 individuals have been introduced to judicial organs in southwestern Daikundi province, an official said.

Abdul Ghafoor Hakimi, the justice department chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News cases of 444 individuals had been discussed in light of complaints registered against them over the past eight years.

He said 174 of the 444 cases of land grabs were referred to judicial organs and the rest were under investigation.

He said the accused individuals had arbitrarily constructed residential compounds and buildings in Shahraj Jadid Neili and Dashti Zamin areas.

Khadija Ahmadi, the Neili mayor, told Pajhwok that they had introduced 174 individuals over land grab accusations to the judicial organs.

He did not provide details in this regard, adding further information would be provided to the media by judicial organs later.

Ali Hussain Nibi, a resident of the Neili City, the provincial capital, accused local authorities of their involvement in the issue and said the provincial municipalities had to specify their master plan in this regard.
