Scrutiny of appellant complaints may end today

<p><a href="/en/afganistan/kabul" class="glossify-link">KABUL</a> (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) is expected to announce an end to the scrutiny to appellant complaints.</p>

<p>A formal announcement in this regard will be made at a press conference by IECC officials today. A decision on appellant complaints would be taken in a couple of days, the watchdog said on Tuesday.</p>

<p>On Monday, IECC Secretary Chaman Etemadi told Pajhwok Afghan News technical issues had been addressed and the presidential election file would be closed.</p>

<p>The commission began addressing objections to decisions on complaints on January 22.</p>

<p>The elections were help on September 2019. The incumbent president was declared the winner in the preliminary result. Abdullah finished second, grabbing 39 percent of votes.</p>
